No Strings Attached

“C’mon girl, get a life,” I tell myself and stifle a laugh at my own lame joke. That’s my reaction almost every time I read my own posts here. So this post is a completely random one. No life advice, no mushy update, no nostalgic wishes and regrets. Just a random blog entry.

I’ll tell you what’s going on around me right now. I’m in my car and we’ve been travelling since 6 in the morning. The clock reads 11:20 AM. The weather outside is quite hot even if the Sun isn’t shining that bright. In fact, it’s pretty cloudy outside. The blue and green hills, trees whizzing past rapidly, through the window it all looks like a movie.

I’m so preoccupied with my work that I can’t even hear the loud radio and the ancient Hindi song that is playing on it. Blame the network. None of the other channels work, except for this one which still has a trace of background noise. I can’t help but notice how beautiful the hills look outside.

I’ll try to show you: There is a vast stretch of field with all the different shades of green blending harmoniously. Trees and small houses dot the field. The hills are green towards the edge closer to me and turn into gentle blues as I look farther away. The ones behind the hills in the front are a light shade of gray. Parts of the foothills are not visible because of the clouds. The white clouds are kissing the blue peaks as the scenery beyond the hills is behind a blurry veil of gray.

These little yet beautiful things can give us a pleasant feeling, even if momentarily. But sadly, most people take these things for granted. So if you feel like life is boring because there’s nothing new on Facebook or Instagram, take a look around you. Some of you will see nothing whereas some of you will see something interesting. It all depends on whether you try to see it. It is very obvious that you are familiar with the world around you because you look at it all the time. But how much of this world do you really see? You can look at everything but you’ll see only the things that you try to know.

But that’s up to you because it’s your life and no one else is responsible for your life and situation.

P.S. I know I’m posting after a long time but final year and coaching preparations are taking its toll on me. If you’re facing the same, wish you all the best!
